The Robert N. Walton Scholarship is offered to graduating students from Newark Memorial High School in memory of Robert N. Walton, a member of the Newark Memorial High School Class of 1983. Rob’s family and friends wish to honor his memory by helping two graduating NMHS students attend the college, university, or vocational school of their choice.
The scholarship is open to graduating students with plans to pursue a four-year bachelor’s degree, or a two-year associate’s degree or vocational school degree or certificate. It aims to provide financial assistance to two graduating Newark Memorial High School students by making a one-time award of $6,000 to a student planning to attend a four-year college or university and a one-time award of $2,000 to a student planning to attend a two-year community college or vocational school.
The deadline to apply for this year’s scholarship is Friday, April 10, 2026.
